Ladakh is in the northern most portions of India situated between Pakistan and China. Located high in the Himalayas at 10,000 ‐12,000 feet in elevation, it was only opened to the outside world in 1962. Culturally, Ladakh is Tibetan Buddhist with a mix of Hindu and Muslim communities and still maintains much of its culture due to its geographic isolation. With India's deeply diverse cultures and an environment that is highly affected by current and ongoing climate change, Ladakh is a part of a developing country emerged in the current events that affect our world view.
